Moving and Decorating on the Brain...

With Friday quickly approaching, I can't help but browse and get excited about decorating. Although this is the house we will only live in for a year until our new home is built, I still want it to feeel like home! We have a lotttt more room than what we have now, so furniture buying is a must. I have decided to start with one room and go from there. Once one room is finished, I 'll move on to the next one. I did want to share some ideas with you and some inspiration on what I plan on copying!

I am so sorry I have been MIA lately. Once we were out for Christmas break, my husband and I headed to Fiji! Since we've been back, a lottttt has happened! We sold our condo, found a home, and we are moving next Friday! Life has been crazy! Although things are picking up, I plan to continue to blog. I promise, ha! Stay tuned this week for several "catch up" blog posts! I hope you all are doing well!

Our Minted Christmas Cards

We leave Sunday, so I won't be doing a whole lot of blogging the rest of the week, so I can get us all packed and ready to go! Please keep us in your prayers as we make our way to Fiji on Sunday. I'm a little nervous about the 12 hour flight, but I know it will all be worth it when we get there! I wanted to share our Christmas card with you before! We hope you and your families have a wonderful holiday and start your new year off with a bang! This past year was the best year of my life. My best friend asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and we did just that on October 25th.... 2014 is going to be hard to top, but I KNOW we will have so many exciting things to look forward to in the new year! On to bigger and better things! I look forward to all the years I get to spend with my husband, family, friends, and one day, our children.. Life is fun and I love doing it with all my favorite people!

Merry Christmas!

Taco Scramble

Sunday morning, we were craving Taco Scramble, so I got up and whipped us up some. I have not gotten this recipe from a website, so I just alter and adjust it as I go. It's super easy and filling, so feel free to serve it alone, but my husband wanted toast and grits, so I served it with that.

Ingredients:
1 pound of sausage, ( You can use whatever kind you like.)
four eggs
1/2 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
four green onions chopped
1/2 white onion chopped
sour cream
salsa ( if needed )
tomatoes ( if needed )
1 pack of taco seasoning

Directions:
1. I usually brown the meat with the chopped white onion and taco seasoning until the meat is completely cooked. The taco seasoning is the key in this meal. It makes it taste like a taco, so make sure you have this.
2. After I have drained the meat, I whisk the eggs and pour them in a pan. I add the meat mixture and cheese. I cook and scramble until completely done.
3. After I have scrambled the mixture really good, I add the mixture to each plate and top with : green onions, salsa, sour cream, a little more cheese, and a few diced tomatoes.
4. Serve and enjoy!

Note: You can alter this meal so much. We didn't have any tomatoes or salsa for ours, so I left it out, but you can add spinach or any other meats or veggies you want. We love tacos, so I love having a breakfast food that tastes like a taco! You can probably even turn this meal into a casserole! :)
It's super easy and I'm sure your family will love it like mine!

One Pot Chicken and Rice

I made One Pot Chicken and Rice the other night. It was a huge hit for my husband AND for me because it's one dirty pot to clean up! There is nothing better when you're cooking, and you only have one pot to wash. I don't know about you, but that is my kind of cooking. ha! The only difference to our meal was we don't care for celery, so I didn't add it. It does take about an hour to cook, but it's simple because you can let it simmer while you doing laundry, working on your children's homework, etc. My husband had three helpings!!! Make it... It will not disappoint.

My First Half Marathon

It was an awesome weekend. Friday night, Emily and I and our husbands went to the Expo to pick up our bags and bib and walk around. It was filled with running stuff! It was so much fun! We ended the night at Huey's with a couple of burgers and fries to carb up! Saturday morning, I woke up around 5:45 and got some toast and coffee in my system. We made our way down to the starting line around 7:30 and patiently waited. I was starting to get nervous, but I knew everything would be alright because I was with my girls. Once we started, I was feeling good, but over-all, it wasn't a great race for me. By mile 9, I was starting to have some trouble with my right hip. I'm not sure what it was because I have never experienced it on my long runs, but it HURT. I stopped every so often and stretched it out as much as I could. It actually hurt more to walk than it did run! Crazy! By mile 11, my hip was throbbing. I tried to ignore it and just focused on my music and making it across the finish line! I'm not sure how I did it, but I finished! It was such a wonderful experience. I honestly cannot believe that I am a half-marathoner now, but boy it feels good! Someone asked me if I would ever do it again, and I said, " Absolutely!" I am already contemplating signing up for the Germantown half marathon in March. I will start training next week and training harder than before, so I won't have any hip problems! I'm still a little sore, but not too bad! I've been icing since I finished on Saturday morning! ha! Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement!

Sausage and White Bean Soup

My friend, Natalie, over at Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers, shows up at our home quite often. And I don't mean SHE shows up, but her recipes do! She has the best recipes to follow and I love how easy and healthy most of them are! She blogged about this soup awhile back, and I've been dying to try it since! I had to adjust it a bit because I didn't have a box of shell pasta, but I just used whole grain penne instead and it turned out just fine! Head over to her blog to check out the recipe! It makes a lot, so be ready for leftovers or freeze it like I did!

Wish List 2014

I know everyone has been sharing their Christmas list, but I guess I'll just share my "list." ha! Sam and I aren't really doing Christmas presents this year, (although he surprised me with the new Iphone 6 plus! Love you honey! ) My parents are getting me the new Nikon D5200, I'm super excited about it! I pretty much just wanted a new phone and a new camera this Christmas! I am mainly just excited about going to Fiji for Christmas, so I could careless about anything else! I dooooo want to share some of my favorites with you right now, though.

 1. Sole Society has the most adorable leopard beanies! I want both of these so bad! How cute are they?

2.  I love these Ivanka Trump over the knee boots. I need a pair of suede ones, too! They're not a bad price either!
3. I love everything about these Sorel boots. I saw a fashion blogger blog about these several weeks ago, and I knew immediately that I needed them! I'm obsessed.

4. The adorable, Emily , over at The Sweetest Thing blogged about this adorable pink puffer vest. I must have it. She bought it at Shop Juliana's, so I will definitely be ordering this! It's still in stock! It's a great price, too!

What all are you wanting this holiday season?
