My life has drastically changed over the last four months. I have become more active, happier, more motivated, etc. I was cautious about doing this post, but decided this is MY blog and I want to document as much as I possibly can...If you don't approve, oh well... It was around Christmas time that I wanted to change my lifestyle. Eating out, drinking wine every night, and no physical activity was starting to get the best of me. I was extremely active in high school and early in college, but I seemed to start on a spiral downslope when S and I started dating. Don't get me wrong, I have always been a pretty healthy eater, but my physcial activity was the pits. I'm not blaming him ONE BIT, but I just got comfortable. I wasn't in the dating field anymore, so I had a tendency to not go to gym as often. Now, it's SO different. I rarely take a day off from doing SOMETHING active. I only go to the gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I do my strength training on those days. It's helping a lot because I have lost several inches off my waist already. I am also seeing definiton in my arms and muscles in my calves and thighs! It's crazy! S makes fun of me because I will often say," OH MY GOSH! Look at this muscle! Where did this come from?" I was also against weights because I did not want to get BIG, but now I am learning that I won't. I am loving the way my body has changed in a short amount of time. I am also doing cardio on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I don't usually work out on Sunday, but a lot of times S and I will go for a walk, ride bikes, etc. My cardio days consists of runs, the elliptical, Spin class, and work out videos at home. My favorite workout videos are: Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred & Jillian Michaels' Fat Burner. Once school is out, I am anxious to try more classes in the morning. I'm sure I will love the body sculpting classes. I am also LOVING my runs now! I am MUCH more in shape, so it's amazing to see how far I can run. I ran three miles on Saturday morning..It's not a lot to some of you, but was a HUGE step for me! ha! As far as my eating.....80% of what you put in your mouth is the key to a successful diet. Only about 20% is your exercise routine. I witnessed this when S and I went to Florida for Spring Break. I gained 0 pounds back because I was adement about following my diet closely. I have a long way to go, but I am learning to love what I am. I am 5'11...I am not supposed to be a size 6 nor have I EVER been a size 6, and I'm okay with that... If you have ANY questions about what I have been doing as far as my eating habits or exercising, feel free to email me! :)
