Book Worm...

I have been reading A LOT lately. I love to read...I usually try to read many books over the summer, but I have found that I like to read during the School year, too..Here's what I have read over the Summer months so far...

This was okay. I have read A LOT

of Jennifer Weiner books, but this was

just not my favorite..It took awhile to get into it.

It was a great Summer book though, because

they were at the beach, etc.

This is the first Elin Hilderbrand book

I have read, but I LOVED it!

It was sooooo good! I will definitely be reading

another one of her books! 

I heart Emily Giffin. She is SUCH  a good writer.

I loved this book. I could NOT put it down...

Random Thoughts..

Hope you all are having a great week so far. I have been so busy these past two weeks. I miss blogging! Anyway, I had a few "random" thoughts for you today, so I thought I would share...
I have not been to Kohl's in about FIVE years. Yes, I know...Sounds crazy, right??? Well, one of my friends had the CUTEST blazer on last week. I asked her where she got it and she said, "KOHL'S!" I was shocked...It was the cutest thing ever...I immediately put it on my checklist for the next day to stop in. I had completely forgot about the Lauren Conrad line that they carry, so I was quite impressed! She had a lot of cute stuff! (Note: I LOVE the Vera Wang line, too.) Here's the blazer I am talking about:

Cute, right?! It is a silky material and looks SO lovely over a dress or silk tank. It comes in this Rose color and ALSO in black! I looked and looked for my size, but they did not have :( I ended up ordering both the colors offline, so I am currently waiting on them to arrive! They were on sale for $49.00. She has some pricey items for Kohl's, but I loved these! I can't wait to get them.....

Call me a GLEEK all you want, but I was so excited about this show starting back! I love all the songs they sing! What am I saying?? I am beyond excited about all the Fall/Winter shows starting this week! It's going to be a good Fall :)

I am currently looking for a good Chicken Tortilla soup recipe. If any of you know of one, please share with me! I looooove making soups in the Crock Pot, so I am on the hunt! Thanks!! 



I don't know if you have seen these, but I have been using these for the past couple of weeks and they are great!! If I can't make it to Starbucks in the morning, I will just add one of these to my coffee cup and pour a little warm milk in! They are great and quick!

Outfit of the Night..

Sam and I went to dinner the other night at one of our favorite places in Memphis. It is called Interim and is located in the heart of East Memphis. We LOVE it! It is very quiet, low key, and the chef is superb! It has been a bit rainy and chilly here in Memphis, so I dressed in a more Fall look:

Fun Friday!!

I am so sorry I have been so boring lately on the "blogging." I have been so busy with school! I hope you all had a fantastic week and have great plans for the weekend! I know many of you own TOM's already, but I was a little skeptical at first...I thought they looked goofy on everyone's feet. I did not understand the point of them and WHY people wanted to wear these things! I researched about them and found out the background of the company and how every child gets a pair when you purchase a pair of TOM's...AMAZING! I knew I needed a pair...I looked and looked and looked online at all the different kinds, but decided on a red color...My brother told me he wanted to buy them for my birthday, so I was excited! My brother's girlfriend is very "knowledgeable" on the TOM's, so I got online with her and looked and found a Snow Leopard pair! I fell in love! I knew IMMEDIATELY that I needed the leopard ones instead of the red pair. We ordered them and they were delivered this morning!!!

Missoni for Target..

I cannot wait until my items come in from Target! The Missoni line hit stores this morning and it has been a MAD-HOUSE since! I bought two sweater dresses, a cardigan, and a wrap. I am super,uper excited about them coming in. I got the email a little while ago and it said they would not be here until 9/19-9/21...bummer...I have seen many people on Twitter talk about how the Target website is now down and crashed...SO CRAAZY! I really do not think they were thinking this would be a big deal, but little did they know?? Right!? I checked Ebay a little while ago to see if anyone had posted the Missoni stuff and there were hunnnnndreds of items! People were marking dresses and shoes up to 200.00 and 400.00!!!  That is asinine...

9/11

I was in the 7th grade at Marion Middle School when I heard the news. I was sitting in Health class, and just about every teacher in the building was out in the hallway discussing it. I really could not understand what was going on, because I simply did not know much about the World Trade Centers..I was scared, though..When I got home and saw my mother crying, I knew...I knew something was wrong. I knew someone had done something terrible, I knew our United States was in mourning, and I knew thousands of people were gone..What I did not know is why...Why would someone do this to us? Why would someone wreck two planes into the World Trade Centers? Why would someone try to destroy the Pentagon?? Why, Why,Why??!!! My heart ached for everyone along the East coast, including the rest of the people throughout our country...Till this day, I constantly remember how I felt, how the people around me felt, and how much it affected everyone...I pray for the families who lost love ones during this time, I pray for the people who dedicated their time to help out in anyway possible, and I pray for our armed forces, who continue to fight day and night to allow me to move freely throughout this land we call home. I love America. I love everything about this place. I thank the Lord for allowing me to live in a place where I have freedom...

As I was driving home this afternoon, I saw this on the screens. Thank you, Tennessee Department of Transportation for showing the consideration and respect our country deserves. I think we should all take a moment sometime today and remember......God Bless America..

Birthday Dinner with the Family...

Last night, we had our Birthday dinner at my parents house. We cooked out, had various appetizers, an AMAZING cake, etc. We had nine people over for dinner and it was simply an amazing evening. We played games all evening, visited with eachother, and joked around. There is NOTHING better than family time! I love it! It was a great way to start my birthday! I got several pictures of the evening, our amazing birthday cake that my boyfriend's Mom made, etc. I also made two appetizers for the guests to munch on while dinner was being fixed. I got the recipes from Pinterest, duh!

Monday night, it got chilly outside, so I made my famous

Chicken Corn Chowder. I follow Pioneer Woman's recipe a

little, but I add a few different ingredients and add chicken!!

First of all, I want to thank all of my friends and family for making my Birthday such a special one! Turning 23 is not so bad after-all! ;) I have had such a wonderful long weekend with my friends and family! I hope you all are having a fantastic long weekend as well....You are probably wondering what my Subject means...Well, I got three pairs of shoes for my birthday this year! ha! I promise I have shoes to wear, but apparently I did not realize they were all on my Wish list!!! Here are a few goodies I got this year:

Friday Celebration...

Friday night, I went out with my bff's for my Birthday dinner. We ate at restaurant downtown called, Blue Fin. It's a sushi place and I LOVE it! It is so,so,so good! We had a few drinks out after at a Local bar called, Local! haha! How original huh?? Here are a few pictures from the night:

Tory Burch Obsession..

I was browsing the Tory Burch and other various websites and ran across these pretties! I know what I will be buying with my Birthday money! LOVE.SWOON.LOVE! They are absoutely gorgeous! I loooove this color! I already have a black pair of boots, but I need a light brown color like this! This color is called Almond. Does anyone know if they run small or big?? I usually wear a 10 in a boot, but not sure about these. I love the side zipper on them, too!
