Weekend Celebrations.

I aplogize for the lack of posts this week. I have been over my head with school, work, etc. I barely have time to sit down and even open the computer, much less write a blog post. I hope you all are having a fabby week so far! My birthday is next Monday, yay! I have so many fun things planned for the weekend! I am also excited about being out for Labor Day! Friday night, I am going to dinner with several friends at a wonderful Sushi place in Downtown Memphis. I.LOVE.SUSHI...end of story. I could  eat it everyday, all day...you get the picture ;) Saturday night, Mr. S is taking me to a wonderful Steak House in Memphis called Folk's Folly. We have never been there, so I'm quite excited! Monday, we are cooking out for mine and my brother's birthday! I have some wonderful dishes prepared, so I will update you all on those next week! I'm sure next week I will need to detox, because I know I will be eating and drinking my weight! haha! Have I told you what I'm MOST excited about? BIRTHDAY CAKE! Yes, I love.birthdaycake.okay.i'll.shut.up.now....I hope you all are doing wonderful, having a great week, and staying healthy! Love you all!

p.s. OH! I also have this movie to watch sometime over the weekend! My brother brought it over the other day and I have not had a chance to watch it! I'm too excited. I have read ALLLLL of her books!

Birthday Food Ideas..

I get to share my birthday with the best person in the world, my brother! :) We are twins! We ALWAYS go out to dinner for our birthday, but this year, we wanted to have a cookout. Our birthday is the 5th of September, which falls on a Monday this year....LABOR DAY! What better way to celebrate?!?! Many of you know that I LOVE to cook, host parties, cook for the family, etc. I found many,many recipes that I want to try! I'm sure we will have steaks, but I found several appetizers and finger foods I want to make for everyone. I have a wonderful recipe for Stuffed mushrooms that I usually always make for family cookouts, but I plan to try these as well:

I am excited about trying them out. Although I

do not eat pork, I will be substituing for turkey bacon

or something along the lines! ;)

Week night Dinner Party...

This past Wednesday night, Sam and I had a dinner to go to at the University club. I was NOT excited about going...1. I had school ALL day. 2. It was rainy and yucky outside...I sucked it up, put on my cocktail dress, and went! I ended up having a really,really good time! Both mayors spoke at the dinner and the wine was delicious ;) I forgot to get an outfit picture, but I did catch two snapshots of Sam and I in the truck after the dinner! Sorry!

I had to dress up today for the first day back to school, because we had a seminar all day! I wanted to dress comfortable, but still cute! Also, they freeze you out of the room we were in, so I knew I wanted to have sleeves on my arms! Here is the outfit I copied:

Weekend Happenings..

I had a great weekend last weekend! It was quite busy, but such a great way to end the Summer vacation! Friday night, I went out to dinner with my high school friends for one of my bff's birthday! We had dinner at Mollie Fontaine's, which was amazing, then out afterwards. Somewhere in the midst of all that, I infected my eye...RANDOM, I know...So instead of going out with everyone, I had to go home and go to bed...:( I apparently scratched the pupil, and it was infected pretty bad....After doctoring it, keeping it covered, and a warm towel on it, I was back to normal by Saturday night. My parents, Sam, and I went to Tunica for the night. We spent the night at Goldstrike, had a yummy dinner, and went to a concert! We had a great time! I had to wear my glasses while we were in Tunica, but that didn't stop me! ;) Sunday afternoon, my family went to Huey's to listen to a band and eat dinner. It would have been my grandparents wedding anniversary...They would have been married 57 years yesterday :( He passed away in 1996 from brain cancer..We miss him so much! Sunday night, I showered, got in bed early, and started on a new book! I am currently reading The Island by Elin Hilderbrand...It was really good so far!! Movie Reviews...

I am so sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have been super duper busy!!! Today was the first day back to school, so I'm sure I'll be quite busy for a little while, but I promise I will keep the blog posts coming! I have not done Movie Reviews in a little while, so I thought I would update you on several movies I have seen recently:

S and I rented Little Fockers last week.

I have seen the first movie, which was quite funny, but

I did not really think this one was very funny. It

was a good renter, but I would have never paid 9.50

to see at the theater.

We watched this movie last night! It was amazing!

I really,really like Bradley Cooper, so I was quite

excited when I found out he was in it ;) There is some

awesome twists in the movie, and it kept me so nervous

the entire time!! I highly suggest you to rent it! It is out

on Redbox now!

We rented this movie over a week ago.

We wanted to stay in one Friday night, so we

rented it off the tv. It was not bad, but it was not great.

It was just..."decent." It was definitely a young-kid

movie, but it had a good story line. If you have NOTHING

to watch, I suggest renting it!!

Dinner with Friends..

Last night, I went to dinner with some friends at Beauty Shop in Midtown. It was delicious as usual! We had a great time! We were there for 3 1/2 hours! I have never spent that long at a dinner. We all had so much to talk about...It's great to have friends like that! Hope you all are having a great Wednesday! First day of school for most kiddos in this area! Woohoo!

I have been listening to a lot of Pandora lately, which I always keep it on the Coldplay station, while I'm working on a DIY, cleaning up, organizing, getting dressed, etc. Lately, these certain songs have been sticking out to me, but I never knew who sang them. I started looking at the screen and googling, but figured out it was a band called Keane. I' am probably WAY behind the time, but I just never who they were. Call me crazy if you want....I LOVE THEM! I am a HUUUUGE Coldplay fan, but I think I love them almost as much! ha! I immediately started researching about them. I went to Itunes after, and downloaded all of their albums! Yes, Yes, and Yes! Weekend Happenings..

I had such a wonderful weekend. It was not long enough! Friday night, S and I had a wonderful dinner at Interim in East Memphis before coming home to rest on the couch and watch, Beastly! It was pretty cute :) Saturday, S and I met my brother and his girlfriend at Tsunami in Midtown for dinner. It was yum yum. Afterwards, we met up with some other friends at Flight for a few drinks! It turned into a very,very late night...Sunday, we did NOTHING. I laid on the couch all day and  caught up on the DVR. I cannot tell you the last time I did that...It was very nice. We ordered in Bardog take-out and we were l-a-z-y.....I didn't get many pictures from the weekend, but Morgan did get a few of me and S! :) Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!

Jewelry Obsession..

I don't know if you have seen these, but several of my friends have one and they are simply adorable! The designer is West Avenue.  I love how you can wear them with a simple tee and skinny jeans, or wear it with a dress! So versatile! I have not decided what style I want yet, but I have definitely decided on gold instead of silver. I have a tendency to wear gold jewelry more now..

I am not sure if you saw my post about purchasing the watch from Michael Kors with the tortoise band, but I finally got the links taken out so I can wear it! I am BEYOND excited! It has a great,big face, so I am thrilled about piecing it with my Fall items...Here is what it looks like now:

Ladies, Christine James asked me to do a Blog post for her. She owns an upper scale Consignment store in West Memphis, Arkansas. It is called Christine's Emporium. She has been in business for 12 years. She is a super sweet lady and is wanting to expand. She is trying to find a place in Memphis that she can open, because she wants a second location for more higher end clothes! She is right across the bridge in West Memphis. She is next door to Kroger and currently takes all brands. She is super reliable. I have taken many,many things in there to sell! Here is how the process works: You take the clothes that you no longer want to Christine, and she will try to sell them at a great price. Whatever she makes, you get half. It does not work like Plato's Closet, but in the long run, YOU MAKE MORE MONEY!!! She has lots and lots of great things in her store, but she would like to get her name out there more to the Memphis women, simply because there is only Celery in the city of Memphis...We need more Consignment stores that are reasonable! Please consider taking your un-wanted items to Christine, so she can sell them for you! The process is simple and easy!

Boden Obsession.

I don't know about you, but I have fallen in love with Boden. It SO reminds me of J.Crew circa 2000.  I love all the bold prints, jersey dresses, patterns, etc. I am currently obsessing over the following items, and WILL include these into my wardrobe before too long ;)

Catching Up...

I am so,so sorry for not writing in almost a week. My life was BUSY the past six days! I went to Fayetteville this past weekend for a Wedding shower and had the best time! Mom, me, and Morgie stayed with my Aunt and Uncle and really enjoyed ourselves! It was a short trip, but simply amazing to spend time with family :) Here's what else I have been up to:

I have read all of her books and LOVED them!

I have enjoyed this book, but it has not been a

"page turner" like her others..I still have Part 3 to

read, so maybe it will pick up some..

I did this today for a few hours. It was nice!

I have not had a chance to lay by the pool in a

few weeks! I needed it!

After I finish the other book, I plan

to start this one...I.LOVE.EMILY.GIFFIN ;)
